What I do

I work as a freelancer for IT companies but also do projects on my own now and then – in co-operation with a designer mostly.

My main competencies are

Creating templates (XHTML, CSS) based on screen designs
Javascript development (“by hand” and with the framework “jQuery”)
PHP development (with MySQL databases)
Development with the Ruby framework “Ruby on Rails”
Setup and customisation of web shops based on “Magento”

Companies I’ve worked for:

Guido Boyke: Joined Guido’s team to develop a B2B platform based on “Ruby on Rails” and other Rails projects: created templates, CSS and JS features as well as Rails views, but also was involved in the models and controllers.
Brandstiftung Design: Did the technical tasks for some smaller websites designed by Brandstiftung.
DKG GmbH: Built the web shop „4600 Dortmund“ using „Magento“ – implemented the layout, adjusted the functionality and developed some minor additional features.
Virtual Identity AG: Hired to support the frontend team in various projects for major clients – development of XHTML templates and CSS stylesheets, JS development using “jQuery” and the Google libraries for “Google Maps” and “Google Search”.
chromgruen: Totally reworked frontend of a browser game for students, that had been developed by chromgruen in co-operation with the “Wissenschaftsladen Bonn”; supplied the necessary resources: templates, CSS and quite a lot of Javascript.
blindwerk: Implemented “Google Search” into the website of one of blindwerk’s clients; adjusted the search layout (XSLT, CSS) and devised the PHP code to fetch the search results via socket connection.
kommzept: Transformed screendesigns to XHTML and CSS, developed Javascript features, and created XSLT stylesheets to display e-books in HTML; also did some backend development using the PHP framework created by kommzept.
Image Transfer GmbH: Frontend development for various projects (XHTML, CSS, and Javascript), PHP development, and some trips into the JSP world; also built XSLT stylesheets for some projects.
Xionet AG: Hired for a projekt based on “Ruby on Rails” – made the stylesheets and JS stuff, created the RoR views, and helped developing the RoR controllers.
Orgarat GmbH: Built XHTML templates along with the CSS stylesheets, did some PHP tasks.

kopozky.net: In this comic blog I show how life in the IT branch really is. And in order to achieve a break-through on the international scale and to be bought by Google some day, all the strips are published in English.
fanzine-index.de: An online index comprising fanzines in German. I launched this website back in 2002, and meanwhile it is quite popular among the fanzine activists and afficionadoes.
JS Pocket Lib: I created this tiny JS library to handle events without using inline Javascript in the HTML markup of a web page – and I mention it just for nostalgic reasons and as a reminder of the times before “jQuery” and “Prototype” … ;)
